Claude connection, website catalog, live exchange rates
Connect your pricing to Claude, publish a live website catalog, price with daily exchange rates and have open packages save themselves.
Highlights
- Connect Photobooth Pricing to Claude, the AI assistant, and price or update your packages by chatting.
- Publish a live package catalog so your website always shows your current prices.
- Prices now use live exchange rates, updated daily.
- Packages that include an MVP now count its true cost, so cost and profit figures changed.
- The package you're editing now saves itself a second after each change.
Check your prices (14)
Packages
- The suggested extra hour price now uses each item's own markup, the same as the package price, and the Extra Hours card no longer has a Markup field. If any item's markup isn't 2, open each package and check its Extra Hours price.
MVPs
- A package that includes an MVP (your base booth setup) now counts the MVP's cost, and overhead is charged once per package. If you sell packages with an MVP, open Packages and recheck their profit.
- MVP costs in saved packages now follow your latest labor rates, overhead and equipment, and never drop below zero. Recheck those packages after you change a rate.
- Equipment groups in an MVP now charge each item over its own lifespan (booth, computer or backdrop), not the Booth lifespan. If your MVPs use equipment groups, open MVPs and recheck their cost.
Currency
- Packages, overhead and website catalog now use live exchange rates updated daily, while items and equipment keep the rate from the day you saved them. If you buy in other currencies, open Packages and check your prices.
- Changing your base currency in Global Settings now keeps your cost numbers as they are instead of converting them. If you changed currency earlier, open Pricing and check your costs.
- Overhead costs in a currency with no exchange rate are now left out instead of counted one-to-one. If you have overhead in another currency, open Global Settings and add its rate.
- Equipment group totals now convert every currency at your studio's rates without counting anything twice. If you own equipment bought in another currency, open Equipment and check your group totals.
- If your studio does not use Canadian dollars, older equipment may have been saved as CAD. Open Equipment, which now offers to fix those items.
Pricing sheet
- Clearing an item's throughput (the hours one unit covers) no longer prices it at $0 in every package. If you cleared one, open Pricing and check that item's hours.
- Flipping the Asset / Per Event switch to Per Event on an item with no unit cost no longer drops its price to $0. Open Pricing and check items you switched.
- The Media Calculator now accepts values that start with 0, like 0.50, and a box cost of 0 plus shipping now gives a cost per print. If you priced cheap media around this, reapply the calculator.
- The Media Calculator no longer has a Tax Rate field. If you entered tax there, add it to the box cost the next time you apply the calculator.
- Reusable assets added or edited through Claude now get their cost from purchase price, lifespan and uses per year. If you added any that way, open Pricing and check them.
New (15)
Claude
- Connect Photobooth Pricing to Claude, the AI assistant, to brainstorm, price and update packages using your real costs, and test what-if prices on saved packages. Click Claude connector at the top of the app for setup steps.
- See which apps can reach your studio and disconnect any of them under Your Profile → Connected apps.
Website catalog
- Publish your package catalog so your website always shows current prices, and pick what appears with each package's Show on website switch. Turn it on under Your Profile → Website catalog. Packages with no items or a $0 price are never published.
Packages
- An open package now saves a second after each change, and Done replaces Update. If someone changes the same field elsewhere, saving pauses and offers Keep mine or Use theirs.
- Add an activation type to a section before it has any packages. Its empty row shows No packages yet and can be renamed or removed.
- Packages now have a Client description for your website, separate from your private notes. Find it in the package editor.
- The Auto-generate button next to Client description drafts the text for a wedding, corporate or general audience from the package's items and your notes, never your prices.
- Rename an activation type by clicking its name in the Matrix or Ladder view. Renaming it to an existing one asks before merging them.
Pricing sheet
- Each print priced with the Media Calculator has a Recheck in Media Calculator button that reopens it with the box cost, prints per box and shipping you used.
Equipment
- Duplicate an equipment item or a whole group in one click.
- Equipment items now have a quantity, so one line can cover several of the same thing.
Team
- Hand a studio to another member with the Transfer Ownership button on the Team page.
- Delete Account in your profile now lets you transfer or delete each studio you own, and emails its members.
Currency
- New studios confirm their home currency before setup continues, so you don't start pricing in the wrong currency.
General
- New Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages, linked from sign-up and the site footer.
Improved (16)
Packages
- The package editor's Extra Hours card now opens a How is this calculated? breakdown showing each staff rate, each per-hour item's rate and quantity, and how markup and rounding reach the suggested price.
- The Rounding Mode options now read Round up to $5, $10, $50 or $100, because prices always round up, never down.
- Drag a package in any view, not just Matrix, to change its activation type and tier, with a preview of where it will land.
- Every section now shows the same tier columns, and reordering them in one section reorders them everywhere, including your website catalog.
- The package editor's Booth type field is now called Activation type.
- Packages without their own image now show a photo for their activation type, with wedding, corporate and holiday versions matched to the section name. Your package and section images still come first.
Compare
- Pick packages to compare from a library grouped by section and activation type, or compare a whole activation type's tiers in one click.
- Each package card on the first Compare screen lists its options, and options that differ between tiers are highlighted in gold.
Settings
- Global Settings now save a second after each change, so closing the wizard early no longer loses edits. A currency change still waits for Save Settings.
- Each Global Settings and setup step has its own link, so reloading reopens the same step.
- The overhead summary card in Global Settings shows your biggest cost's share and each cost's share of the total.
General
- Money across the app now shows your studio's currency symbol, such as CA$, €, £ or A$, instead of a plain $.
- Release notes now open with highlights and a Check your prices list, and group changes by area of the app.
- The app version now sits in the bottom-right corner of every screen instead of inside your profile panel.
For developers
- Packages no longer have
additionalHourMarkup. Updates that send it are rejected, and create and price calls ignore it. - The website catalog docs moved to photoboothpricing.com/developers/, and old links redirect there.
Fixed (36)
Packages
- A price override below zero is now refused instead of saved as the package price.
- An MVP in the package editor's Add Items list now shows the same price as its package line, at the package's length.
- Activation types Claude adds to a section are no longer erased when you change sections in the app at the same time.
- Packages Claude duplicates now keep the original's activation type and tier.
- Prices in the package editor's Add Items list now convert into your studio's currency.
- A package image upload stays on the package it started on, even if you switch packages while it uploads.
- The Activation type and Tier fields in the package editor list every option, even when the field already has a value.
- A package saved with a $0 override or 0 markup no longer always shows unsaved changes.
- The package image field shows the image's file name instead of a long link.
- The Package Library header stays in view while you scroll, and the Matrix view no longer shows an extra scrollbar.
- Long activation type names in the Matrix and Ladder views now wrap onto more lines instead of being cut off.
- A studio with no MVPs now shows a Create New MVP button on the MVPs page.
Pricing sheet
- The price preview for a new item now matches the price it saves with.
- The Asset / Per Event switch saves as soon as you flip it.
- Edits are no longer lost when you leave with the browser's Back button.
- The card view now shows converted costs, like the table.
MVPs
- Deleting an MVP now asks for confirmation first.
- The MVP builder's price now rounds the same way as the saved MVP card.
- Staff hours in the MVP builder are easier to read.
- If your MVPs fail to load, the MVPs page now says so and offers Try again, instead of showing an empty list.
- When a package is longer or shorter than its MVP, only staff who work the MVP's full length gain or lose hours. Someone on a shorter shift keeps the hours you set, and a short package can no longer show a negative MVP price.
Team
- Members with team access now see Team Management in the profile menu, not only owners and admins.
- Read-only team members can no longer delete equipment.
- Changing a pending invite's role or permissions now applies when the person joins.
- Owners without a display name can now invite people.
- The permission badges on the Team page show each section's full name, like Package Builder and Global Settings, instead of only the first word.
Settings and sign-in
- Saving Global Settings no longer undoes changes a teammate made, or changes made in another tab or through Claude.
- If the setup wizard fails to save, it stays open with your entries instead of claiming they were saved.
- Signing out now closes the MVP builder and Global Settings, so the next person can't save the previous account's work.
- Signing out while a team invite is being accepted no longer signs you back in.
- Creating an account now checks that both passwords match.
- The Monthly burn and Per event figures in the overhead summary no longer get cut off. Amounts of 100,000 or more drop the cents.
General
- The app's fonts load again after a change at our font provider made text fall back to plain system fonts.
- When part of your studio fails to load, the warning now names what failed and offers Try again. If you lost access to the studio, it asks you to sign out.
For developers
- Editing an overhead expense through the API can no longer change a different expense.
- New
update_section_booth_typesconnector tool declares a section's activation types. Studio overview and settings now report them.
